Please note: This website is designed for wide screen computers. Sorry if it doesn't fit on your screen! At the end of 2008, Val and I took a 10 day trip to Tasmania. It was a pleasant trip bar the food poisoning :) Since many of you may never get to Tasmania, and others will just want to know what it's like, I've taken the time to create a website with photos and a couple of short videos from the trip The left menu lets you pick the town / area, and once you click on one of the three shown, you can choose from all the places we visited. I've listed most of them below for you too. One tip: Each section has a link to a Picasa photo album. They have many more photos than this website, but no background information. When you click to view the albums they open in a new window. This website remains open behind those albums. We hope you enjoy the site :) This site was built using a free web page program called Joomla. With it, you create the content and it handles the layout, etc. It takes a little learning, but is ideal if you want a website that can be edited anywhere, have multiple contributors, and not have to worry about creating each page individually the old fashioned way. All images on this site are actually hosted on Picasa, which means the site itself is tiny and has almost no bandwidth costs. Likewise, the video content is on YouTube. Cheers, Mike |
